At Home in Spain, we believe that home is not just four walls – it’s a place where memories, smells and flavors are created. And one of those flavors that can transport us to the warmth of Spain is paella – an aromatic dish of rice, vegetables and side dishes that warms the heart and brings people together around the table.
🥘 What exactly is paella?
Paella is a traditional dish originating in Valencia, considered a symbol of Spanish cuisine. Its base is rice, cooked in a broth with spices, vegetables and meat or seafood. Although there are many variations of this dish in Spain, one thing is certain – paella always tastes best when shared with loved ones.

- 125 g chorizo
- 240 g rice for paella

salt, pepper, hot bell pepper, chicken seasoning

In a large skillet, heat the oil and fry the onion. Then add zucchini and bell peppers – fry for a few minutes, until lightly browned. - Prepare the meat:
Dice the chicken breast, season with salt, pepper, chicken seasoning and hot pepper. Fry in a separate pan until golden.
Chorizo cut into slices and also gently fry. - Combine the ingredients:
Put everything into a large pan (preferably a special one for paella). Pour in the rice evenly, then pour the hot stock over the whole thing. - Add flavor:
Stir in tomate frito and simmer for about 40 minutes. Stir gently every few minutes and add stock as needed. - Done!
When the rice has absorbed the liquid and is soft – the paella is ready to serve.
🌿 Tip:
Although our paella is with chicken, chorizo and vegetables, nothing prevents you from adding your own favorite ingredients – shrimp, mussels or squid will give it a unique Mediterranean touch.
